This year was comprised of five more modules:
Gameplay Programming
Involved producing a portfolio piece showcasing skills in Unity. In order to do so, I developed a scene demonstrating typical gameplay features, Listed below:

A 3rd person avatar with camera relative controls

A camera controller that could switch between modes such as a follow camera, a cutscene view, a spline sequence, and a lock-on camera

Use of Unity's timeline system to quickly and effectively create cutscenes, and some moving platforms
-
Combat ready enemy AI
-
Powerups and collectibles that affected the avatar in some way
-
A platforming sequence along a spline that relied on linear interpolation to calculate camera position.

UI and Particle effects as a method of appropriate feedback to the player
After this, we were tasked with taking what we'd learned from the indvidual portfolo and bringing that to a group project scenario and create an even more impressive piece using the best parts of everyone's previous work.
In conjunction to all of this, I was also tasked with producing a technical report exploring Finite State Machines and their role in the games industry and beyond, in which I referenced sections of my own work on Enemy AI.

This year was comprised of four foundational modules:
Principles of 3D environments

This project allowed me to develop skills in Maya Modelling Software and Unity through following a two-stage brief. Stage one required modelling a fully animated airship to a given technical specification, while stage two required importing said airship into unity, and designing a playable demo level begining with a controlable avatar on the ground, and moving onto a segment in which players pilot the airship.
Games Tech 101

This project required the use of Python to develop three increasingly complex projects, culminating in a final group project designed to test our ability to apply skills learned prior. Points of learning revolved arounds OOP, Class structure, Algorithms and Data Structures, Stack and Heap manipulation, Sorting algorithms, finite state machines, pathfinding and behaviour trees. We also touched on Hash Tables and Quad Trees.
Game Development Evolution

In Term 1, I was tasked with producing a porfolio celebrating 5 key aspects of game production - programming and problem solving, multiplayer technologies, porting and emulation, localisation in international markets, and the laws surrouning video game production

In Term 2, I collaborated with peers to produce a mobile game - this involved pitching 3 high concept game ideas, moving forward with a final game idea, and demonstrating a final product at the end of the development period.
Games in C++

This module consisted of 4 projects designed to develop foundational knowledge in C++ using SFML. Projects involved designing a rock, paper, scissors game played in the console, and later moving on to reproducing classic arcade games such as whack-a-mole, breakout, pong and space invaders. This module culminated in a final project in which we were required to produce a 2D platforming game using the C++ standard library and SFML, while applying all of the knowledge aquired over the course of the previous projects
